On August 23rd, my good bud Donita and I volunteered on Indy northside at a Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser called "Festivale". This beer and food tasting event is an annual fundraiser for CF. This was our second year selling raffle tickets and my third year volunteering for the event.
The prize for the raffle was the "Instant Bar" and believe me, they weren't kidding!! This is just a portion of the booze, bar tools, glassware, napkins, mixers, etc., etc., etc., that was the prize.
More bar -- coasters, stirrer sticks, pretzels, peanuts, cherries, et al. All of the goodies were donated by merchants and probably totaled around $2,000 in goodies. This is just a terrific idea for raising money!The winner actually had two sons with cystic fibrosis. He and his wife were planning a party to celebrate!
The Cystic Fibrosis Festivale Committee declared us the Raffle Queens since we sold over $1,500 in raffle tickets. This is a really fun event and we hope to do it again next year!
